Gabriel's Voice

A tale of unexpected performance

Once upon a time, a boy named Gabriel lived in a little town hidden between the high mountains. Gabriel was a bright and cheerful young lad, but he struggled with something that made him feel slightly different from the other children—he stammered when he spoke.

Whenever Gabriel tried to say something, his words would get stuck in his mouth, like rocks blocking a stream. It made him feel frustrated because he couldn't express himself as easily as his friends could.

Gabriel's parents and teachers were kind and patient. They encouraged him to practice speaking slowly and calmly, but the stammering still lingered. Gabriel wondered if he would ever find a way to speak smoothly like everyone else.

One sunny day, the school announced they were putting on a play about a brave knight who saved the kingdom from a fearsome dragon. Gabriel loved stories of adventure and bravery, so he decided to audition for a part in the play.

At first, Gabriel was nervous. He worried that his stammering would make it hard for him to speak his lines clearly. But something incredible happened when he stepped onto the stage. As the lights beamed down and the audience watched with eager eyes, Gabriel felt a surge of confidence like never before.

When it was his turn to speak, Gabriel took a deep breath and began his lines. To his amazement, the words flowed from his mouth smoothly and effortlessly, like a stream winding through the forest. There was no sign of his stammering anywhere.

The audience erupted into cheers and applause as Gabriel finished his lines with a beaming smile. He couldn't believe it—he had spoken perfectly! After the play, Gabriel's parents and teachers rushed to congratulate him, amazed at his newfound ability to speak with ease.

As Gabriel reflected on his performance, he realised something wonderful. The stage had become his favourite place, where his stammering vanished, and his words became speedy and beautiful like butterflies in the sky. No one could understand what happened but from that day forward, Gabriel loved the stage. The stage loved him and it seemed that this shared love spread to the world around him.
