A tale of a brave heart

Igor was different from the other boys his age. While everyone else loved playing computer games, Igor found no joy in them. Instead, he loved getting lost in the pages of books. He enjoyed adventures in faraway lands, discovering hidden treasures, and meeting magical creatures through the words on the pages.

Igor’s classmates couldn’t understand his passion for reading. They often laughed at him and teased him for not joining their gaming sessions. "Igor's afraid of games!" they would jeer. This made Igor feel sad and alone. To avoid the teasing, he spent more and more time in the library, surrounded by the comforting silence of books.

One rainy afternoon, while hiding in his favourite reading nook, Igor discovered an old, dusty book titled "The Brave Heart." As he opened the book, he was immediately drawn into the story of a young boy who overcame many challenges through courage and kindness.

Inspired by the boy's bravery, Igor decided that he wouldn’t let the boys’ laughter keep him from doing what he loved. He realised that being different wasn’t something to be ashamed of; it was something to embrace. The boy in the story was different too, and his unique qualities made him a hero.

The next day at school, Igor held his head high. During recess, when the boys teased him again, he took a deep breath and said, "I know I don’t like computer games, but I love reading. Books take me on amazing adventures. It’s okay to be different. It’s what makes us special."

The other boys were surprised by Igor’s confidence. They had never seen him stand up for himself before. One of the boys, Alex, who was the loudest of them all, walked up to Igor. "What kind of adventures?" he asked, curiosity replacing his usual smirk.

Igor’s eyes lit up as he began to describe the stories he loved. He spoke of brave boys and wise old owls. As he talked, more and more boys gathered around, listening intently. They had never realised how exciting books could be.

From that day on, things began to change. Some of the boys asked Igor to recommend books, and soon, a small group started meeting in the library to read together. Igor’s love for books spread, and he made new friends who appreciated his passion.

Igor learned that being different wasn’t a weakness; it was his strength. He found his courage, just like the young boy in the book, and discovered that standing up for who you are can inspire others to do the same.

And so, Igor’s world expanded beyond the pages of his books. He was no longer timid, and he realised that true bravery comes from embracing who you are, no matter what others might say. In the end, Igor taught his classmates an important lesson: being different is something to celebrate, not to fear.
