On Eternal Interconnectedness
"Forever is not about time, but a state of mind where love resides"
The belief in an omnipresent, all-knowing energy that resides within and animates all existence is a profound assertion of interconnectedness. This energy, often interpreted as the essence of life itself, is thought to foster growth through the expansion of our minds, and hearts. This journey of self-discovery and understanding of "Who we are" is both individual and collective, as we each contribute to a unique piece of the ever-evolving mosaic of existence.
Our existence can be likened to a divine jigsaw puzzle. Unlike traditional puzzles with a predetermined image, this cosmic puzzle is dynamic, continuously reshaped by our choices and beliefs. Each individual creates a distinct picture within their own life, contributing to the larger picture.
I once doubted the existence of such an energy, dismissing it during my carefully prepared utterances in high school French lessons and later during exams in philosophy on the transient nature of love. My arguments were grounded in scepticism and a firm belief in the impermanence of all things. Yet, over time, I embraced the notion of a powerful, eternal force that transcends the ephemeral nature of our world — Love.
In a constantly changing world, the belief in eternal Love might seem naive or elusive. Yet, this belief is deeply rooted in human consciousness, echoed by poets and philosophers throughout history. Their reflections assure us of the timeless essence of Love and the enduring power of this force.
To avoid diminishing the depth of this contemplation with my own words, I turn to the wisdom of others:
“Love is not about how long you’ve been together, but how you show love every day.” – Unknown
“Forever is not about time, but a state of mind where love resides.” – Suzy Kassem
“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” – Apostle Paul
“True love stories never have endings.” – Richard Bach
“Forever is composed of nows.” – Emily Dickinson
“Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.” – H. Jackson Brown Jr.
“Love is a promise; love is a souvenir, once given, never forgotten; never let it disappear.” – John Lennon
“Forever is just a moment, but a moment with you feels like forever.” – Sanober Khan
“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is understanding, confidence, sharing, forgiving, and loyalty through good and bad times.” – Ann Landers
“Love is the strongest force in the world, yet it is humble.” – Mahatma Gandhi
On one hand, these reflections encourage us to view love as a collection of moments — a shared glance, a laugh, a drink, a meal — the simple exchanges that create deep connections. On the other hand, we are compelled to acknowledge the multifaceted nature of love and its profound impact on our lives. Love is not merely a fleeting emotion but a state of being that transcends time, nurtures growth, and sustains us through life's challenges. It is the quiet force that binds us, the eternal essence that animates our existence, and the ultimate truth that will last forever.
